Entering at Janus Pannonius University freshmen students come face to face a hard task which is to try to familiarise not just all the brand-new customs and the observation of the spirit of university life but the place itself. JPU consists of 4 main buildings in the street of Ifjúság and injuring to it takes up a quorum of the first year students energy and time. Also looking for eating facilities stands them in front of a dilemma: which one to choose, how to build up the system of where to eat. In this case a restaurant and a buffet are open not only to students but to teachers and working people of JPU. The buffet area is a small spot in the labyrinth of building 'A' bellow the first floor where confectioneries, drinks, the see of baker's ware accessible for greedy customers. However, the tendency of refraining from it seem to outshine the percentage of those students who satisfy their need in the JPU buffet. This paper will present 5 ways to bring the reader's attention to the problem by firstly identifying the objects of the absence, and secondly to draw a picture of how it is done then conclude it by trying to find a solution for the proposition.
The biggest group of students who avoid from the buffet those ones who can not afford spending money daily because the products are fairly expensive. Having lots of money means independence and those who are not well-heeled need to find another way to fulfil their hunger. Also thrifty students have come across this difficulty and have found a solution. The first could be by not bringing any money at school to prevent even the idea of using up parents's wallets, furthermore taking food from home would save up a huge amount of money.
Another group of students, who are mainly women, are more concerned not about the amount of money is spend on food but the quality of it. More and more girls are out-an-out vegetarians or simply want to eat healthy nourishment not junk food like for example that greasy roll with caraway seeds. Girls have another reason not to eat fatty product: it is of course for the reason to stay slender and slim. An answer could be for them to visit the greengrocery store opposite the main buildings of the university where a wide selection of fruits are available to satisfy the demand of the stomach. Fruits not only healthy to the body but they help women to stay fit. However, for those who do not care if the products they eat healthy or not there is an immense temptation. Just to think of 'Ishler', which is a rich plain chocolate covered jam-filled teatime favourite, for chocolate lovers it is hard to resist such an eye-catching creatures. The clue would be not even going near the buffet.
The third bunch of students who do not want to spend their valuable time by rushing to the buffet and back to for example building 'D'; who hates queuing up, hates waiting and who loves comfort. Between lessons only little time can be spared on dashing to the buffet; queuing up makes these students feel that their limited free time are always engaged and never enough. The lovers of comfort just haven't got enough place to sit down and to eat their breakfast/lunch comfortably. At the greengrocery outside the university queuing up is unknown. The intake of food could be placed at the university park where the sea of benches are available for the ones who loves not only comfort but to eat surrounded by beautiful nature. If the weather does not allow associates to ingest food outside then university hall can be a useful alternative.
In Hungary the tradition of eating plentiful lunch goes a long way back. Mostly men students, who are accustomed by their family habit to eat proper lunch, do not find their expectations in the buffet, that is why the university restaurant is a lot better eating spot with its continually changing bill of fare and its possibility to eat lunch more comfortably than it could be eaten in the buffet.
Finally, the fifth class of students, presumably it is not vast, who do refuse to go anywhere near the buffet because they do not sympathise with the assistant. This may sound a bit weird but according to student comrades such incidents could happen. These minority of students would not have to go near the buffet if fellow students, who visit the buffet regularly, are asked to bring them some nourishment. Another version could be to think of the reasons why that person has become the object of displeasure. Often blaming other people for nothing is easier then finding the fault inside ourselves.
On the whole, students have various reasons for dodging the eating area to find a
substitute which would be more preferable to them. The urge of doing it can characterise different kinds of group of students. This characterisation is not connected to their chosen major, not even the age or interests but money, health, the question of comfort and the matter of human feelings toward another person. This paper hopefully underlined the points of trying to find alternatives and to point the main question: why people do choose not to go to the buffet even if it's emission of aroma is enveloping them and the appearance of products are provoking to the eye.

Draft 2
Poor university students have to grasp every free moment to study even at school if they did not have time for it earlier at home. Usually it is full house everywhere: there is no place in the library, the hall is crowded just like the refectory. If they are lucky they may find an empty chair in the buffet. At first they are glad to be able to sit down and study. But after awhile they become more and more nervous. They cannot concentrate on their work because there are many irritating events happening around or with them, which must be eliminated somehow.
In the case of students who have abundent thirst for knowledge and want to satisfy it in the buffet, even friends can be annoying. They join and start to tell boring stories. They do not notice that there are hundreds of papers on the lap of their friends and talk until the time for the test has come. This situation is a quite dangerous one but what can be done? Students who want to study cannot hide away from their friends. If they do not greet them they will be thought to be impolite. But there are some usable techniques. When students sit down they should turn towards the wall so that their face cannot be seen. This solution is more secure if they put on a wit that will cover up their own hair and even the shape of their head will change. Nobody will recognise them. If turning towards the wall is not possible, technique No. 2 comes into force. Wit is useful here, too but students will need sun-glasses as well. It may seem a bit odd to wear them inside but the end justifies the means. They are not needed if a false beard or moustache is available. These two methods always work but they also have the drawback that it is a little difficult to get hold of a wit, a false beard or a moustache and studying with sun-glasses on may be flagrant or ridiculous. But this must not bother students since it is more important to achieve good results than to let others have some funny moments.
Other negative effects can also influence the learning capacity of the students. The full buffet is noisy since people are chatting in a leisurely way, are laughing loudly and thus the ones wishing to study cannot concentrate. They either pay attention to the conversation or the joke told next to them because they are more interesting than what they want to learn or they become angry with their neighbours and fume in silence or even rebuke them. The situation is nearly the same if some music is played loudly. Fortunately, there are at least two appliances that can be used in these cases. One is the walk-man. Using this, students do not have to listen to the music chosen by others but to the one they like which will help them to remember the data easier and quicker. Another useful appliance is ear-plug. It closes all the noise out and its users can grasp the information they want in complete silence. Since it cannot be seen by others, who want to communicate with these persons will think that they are deaf or simply impolite because they show no interest to what they say.
In spite of getting rid of the disturbing noise, students still have to meet other obsacles among which smoke is probably the most important one. This problem of course do not refer to those who smoke but there is a big number of people, even at universities, who do not do so. Sitting in a buffet with smokers around is like a disaster for them. Wherever they turn they breathe smoke in and whenever someone puts out a cigarette another one will light one. In most cases university buffets do not have any windows so non-smokers either choke or leave. But in either situation how will they learn what they wanted? The only solution is a gas-mask. If they put it on they will be protected from not only smoke but the odour of food circulating in the air, too. Thus they do not want to buy a sandwich or a muffin every minute. These means ensure a strong feeling of security but a hundred percent success can be achieved only by the use of blinkers. They will turn the eyes to the notes. With the help of these objects, students can isolate themselves from the whole outside world and pay attention only to that great deal of studying to do.
Poor university students who have to acquire knowledge in buffets, must be aware of the facts that may put them off their work. To be able to take no notice of them, they have to be well-equipped with numerous accessories. Students must be prepared for every imaginable case so they will need a wit, a false beard or moustache, sun-glasses, a walk-man with extra battery, ear-plugs, a gas-mask and blinkers. Careful and prudent students always have to carry these life-saving fittings with them so that they can enter any kind of situation they will not be diverted from their intention. This equipment will help to put even the sens organs to the service of learning: the nose has no function, the eyes can see only the notes , the ears can hear only the silence or the favourite music. This is the ideal state of mind and body for studying in a university buffet.
