In the last twenty years big changes have taken place at the English Department. After Building 'D' collapsed during the summer of 2013 (luckily nobody was hurt) the Department moved to a more modern building. There is a spaceport next to the university for better transportation. Students come here from all parts of the world to study. New more interesting courses have been introduced to the curriculum, like how to be a millionaire in seven days. Is it the end of development? Nobody knows.

The university made contacts with all English and American universities. Students can teleport themselves to foreign universities for a few semesters to study the conditions and habits elsewhere. For a couple of years, kids have been spending Halloween in the United States. Not only Hungarians go and visit different places, but students from other universities come and see us. They come mainly from the surrounding countries and from the United States to learn Hungarian. They come by teleport or little spaceships. The spaceport is often busy. It is a quick way of transportaion. Lots of people show up here. People like to come here because it is a nice place to stay.

Our new building was built in 2013. The English Department won a lot of money on intergalactic bingo and from the money they built the new building which floats above the ruins of the old one. This new building looks very modern. There is only one hall for everyone. It is all green because the walls are full of plants due to of the lack of oxygen. Sometimes unidentified creatures sneak in, especially to the English Department and they consume huge amounts of oxygen, which is highly annoying. The Department is completely different from the old building. There are no papers hanging from the notice boards. Students can meet in the hall and socialise with others from all over the world. There are no language barriers between them because they use a little machine for translation.

Students communicate with their instructor through pocket-PC's. There is no need to plug in these smart machines because they use radio waves for communication. Students get material via these PC's. They meet their teachers only for the final exam. We do not use books, everyone works with these little computers, but only for listening to texts and reading. The library is also computerised. A visitor finds only Compact Disks there. The cafeteria looks very different. There are only big machines standing next to each other, from which you can get artificial food. Some changes had been made for the mental nourishment as well. Essay writing is banned from the curriculum. It is not to be punished , it is just optional (but we must add that essay writers are looked at as weird creatures). Still some enthusiasts creep down in the cellars debugging 20-30-year-old essay assignments. The new curriculum is incredibly flexible. Students can invent courses and if the committee decides the course good, they introduce it. I mention just some of the new courses: 'How to be a millionaire in 7 days?', 'Unidentified creature hunting', etc.

Is it the end of development? The English Department is still developing. The latest Hi-tech comes to the Department every day. Students learn more effectively, tutors are professionals in their fields. The effectiveness of teaching is developing day by day. For how long it is going on? Time will tell the answer.
